It provides a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts, fostering a sense of community and shared knowledge. Members exchange tips, seeds, and even produce, which can lead to a more fruitful and diverse garden. The Highland Springs Garden Club offers educational workshops and field trips, allowing members to deepen their horticultural knowledge and explore new gardening techniques. Additionally, participating in a garden club can significantly enhance one&#8217;s physical and mental well-being, offering a relaxing and rewarding escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Whether you&#8217;re an experienced gardener or just starting out, The Highland Springs Garden Club provides the support, inspiration, and camaraderie needed to grow a thriving garden and cultivate a love for nature. All of this for an annual membership fee of $30 per year. The Highland Springs Garden Club provides residents an opportunity to enjoy growing their own herbs, vegetables and flowers <!--StartFragment --><span class=\"cf0\"> whether in ground or on a greenhouse shelf.<\/span><!--EndFragment --> All residents, regardless of their gardening background, are invited to join the Garden Club.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} --><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>Highland Springs Garden Club Mission<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The Garden Club holds business and program meetings on the first Tuesday. Other meetings are held periodically such as public garden tours or socials. Garden spaces are assigned annually in December and are available for year-round gardening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} --><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Highland Springs Garden Club Activities &amp; Services<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Monthly business and program meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month. Business meetings start at 10:00am and typically include discussions on upcoming events or projects. Members review the club\u2019s budget, discuss membership growth, engagement strategies, maintenance of community garden spaces, and planning volunteer opportunities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Monthly program meetings also occur on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 am immediately following the Business Meeting.\u00a0 These Programs offer a diverse range of activities and learning opportunities designed to enhance a gardener\u2019s green thumb. It includes information on various gardening techniques, such as composting, soil health and pest management. At times there are guest lectures from horticultural experts, field trips to botanical gardens or nature centers or even social events for exchanging tips, seeds and plants.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">The outdoor in-ground beds are approximately 8\u2019x8\u2019 and are in one of three garden areas on the south side of the property. There are some elevated beds for mobility challenged Club members.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Each garden location has multiple garden hoses and connections along with a fully equipped garden shed of tools and fertilizer.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Tilling and compost services are provided annually.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Greenhouse shelf space, along with tools and compost, is available for each member.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":4} --><\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Q&amp;A<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Q: Am I required to have both a garden space and a greenhouse shelf?<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A: No. Membership allows you to have both but some residents chose to have only a garden space or only a greenhouse shelf.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Q: Am I required to attend meetings?<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A: No. Meetings provide residents a chance to discuss gardening topics and hear master gardeners speak on a variety of gardening issues but they are not mandatory<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">Q: What may I grow in my garden space?<\/span><br \/><span style=\"color: #333333;\">A: Residents may grow whatever Texas weather allows them to grow with the exception of trees. Garden beds should be kept weeded and free of debris but there are no restrictions on what plants may be cultivated. Trees are not permitted because of the garden bed size.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><em>Guests are always welcome to visit our gardens.
