  TED SELOFF
HIGHLAND SPRINGS RESIDENT, ARMY BY PHYLLIS SELOFF, WIDOW
Ted Seloff was a student at Vanderbilt University when he was drafted into the army in May 1945. He served as a surgical technician, Medical Detail 7th Infantry Regiment.
He trained at Camp Livingston, Louisiana, where he learned Japanese, but V-J Day came beforehand, and he was discharged in October of 1946 without ever having left United States soil.
After he was discharged, Ted returned to Vanderbilt, completed his Master’s degree in chemistry. He later met Phyllis, his future wife, through her father—but that’s another story.
